President Donald Trump is observing the midterm election results from the East Room of the White House rather than holding a press conference. He confirmed on Tuesday that he is tracking the coverage via Fox News.

According to his official schedule, the president will join a small circle of aides starting at 7:00 p.m. local time. This timing coincides with the closing of polling places in much of the Eastern seaboard.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, "I am watching the pre-election results on Fox News." He used the same platform to criticize Fox News commentator Jessica Tarlov.

The White House is hosting key members of the administration for the night. Markwayne Mullin, the Secretary of Homeland Security, and Marco Rubio, the Secretary of State, are among the officials present. They will monitor the race for control of the Congress, where Republicans currently hold the majority.

Trump has maintained a high level of activity on social media throughout the day. He has posted messages urging voters to support specific candidates in various states. His team described the final week before the election as marathon-like.

At age 80, the president attended seven rallies over six days. Estimates suggest he traveled approximately 8,500 miles during that period. These figures rival the pace of a presidential campaign.

The East Room holds historical weight for the president. In the 2020 election, he declared victory from that location before final counts were complete. He later argued that the tally should stop after Joe Biden was declared the winner, characterizing the outcome as fraudulent. The current vote will serve as a direct measure of public opinion on his administration.
