President Donald Trump will enter the final phase of his midterm campaign tour with a stop in Daytona Beach, Florida, on Friday, October 30. The visit marks the start of a concentrated effort to support Republican candidates in the state as the general election approaches.

The President plans to campaign for Byron Donalds, the Republican nominee for governor. Donalds is challenging David Jolly, a former Republican member of Congress who switched to the Democratic Party. While polls favor Donalds, the race remains competitive. This contest contrasts sharply with the 2022 election, when incumbent Ron DeSantis won reelection by nearly 20 points.

Trump is also expected to rally support for Republicans seeking seats in the U.S. House of Representatives. Sen. Ashley Moody faces state Rep. Angie Nixon in a special election to retain her Senate seat. DeSantis appointed Moody to the position in 2025 following the departure of Marco Rubio, who became Secretary of State.

The Daytona Beach stop also serves Rep. Randy Fine, a freshman House member from Florida. Fine was sworn in during April 2025 after winning a special election to replace Mike Waltz, who has since served as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

Florida recently redrew its congressional maps in preparation for the midterms. Republicans currently hold 20 of the state’s 28 House seats. The new district lines may allow the party to increase its majority in the chamber.
