Detroit radio host: Faith anchors voters before Tuesday

Listeners of a Detroit-based religious radio program are being encouraged to maintain spiritual focus ahead of Tuesday's national elections.

Chris Brooks, the show's host, told the audience this week that the upcoming vote brings a mix of hope and anxiety. He stated that Christians do not need to fear the outcome because Christ is king.

Brooks serves as senior pastor at Woodside Bible Church, a multisite congregation in the Detroit metropolitan area. Prior to his current role, he pastored Evangel Ministries in central Detroit for 20 years. That congregation had approximately 1,600 members during his tenure.

He also held a position as campus dean at Moody Theological Seminary in Plymouth, Michigan. Brooks has hosted a live radio show since 2005 and holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Michigan State University. He earned a master's degree in Christian apologetics from Biola University and the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics.

The program airs weekdays at noon CT and features one hour of live discussion. Brooks is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at Asbury Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Yodit, have six children.

The station is promoting a November thank-you gift for donors. The book, titled This Light of Mine: Living Like Jesus in a Non-Jesus World, was written by Joseph M. Stowell. The show is produced by Moody Global Media and Moody Bible Institute.
