Jamie O'Hara described Diogo Dalot's defensive performance as atrocious following Manchester United's 3-2 victory over Roma at Old Trafford on Wednesday. The pundit appeared on talkSPORT to analyze the match, where Michael Carrick's side recovered from a two-goal deficit to secure a Champions League win.

The Portuguese defender was out of position for both of Roma's early goals. Matias Soule scored in the 11th minute after exploiting space left by Dalot. Five minutes later, Dalot was again out of position when Ayden Heaven blocked a shot with his arm, leading to a penalty converted by Donyell Malen.

O'Hara stated that the first half was pathetic and that the team had stopped running. He argued that Roma should have buried the opportunity but failed to do so. The pundit said he was certain during the first half that Dalot needed to be substituted because he did not know what the player was doing.

"I said during the first half, they have to take him off, he was atrocious," O'Hara said. "I don't know what he was doing, I don't know. It was awful defending, it was so bad. I couldn't believe how bad they were."

Manchester United changed course in the second half. Bruno Fernandes scored from a retaken penalty won by Matheus Cunha. Cunha then added two late goals to complete the comeback and send the home crowd into celebration.

Manager Michael Carrick praised his players for growing into the game after conceding early. He noted that the team made the most of every opportunity. Carrick emphasized that the result was a win for the club and that the fans went home happy.

"It was a good night," Carrick told Amazon Prime. "I have to give credit to the players, I think we grew into it after giving the goals away. The boys made every little bit of every opportunity. We were brilliant in the end."

United remains 17th in the Premier League, two points above bottom-placed Sunderland. The team faces Aston Villa on Sunday. Villa sits 10th in the league and lost 3-0 to Barcelona earlier in the week. Captain Bruno Fernandes said the win was necessary for the club and the players, not to save the manager's job.
