Indiana residents should monitor their surroundings for a man wanted for murder who escaped custody in Tennessee. The Indiana State Police issued an advisory on Monday to alert the public that Jacob Allen Morley, 28, may be traveling through the region.
Sgt. Kevin Getz of the Indiana State Police noted that authorities do not have specific intelligence placing Morley in the state. However, he has been on the run for more than a week. A 2008 Ford F-150, which investigators believe Morley stole, was discovered in Marion, Illinois, on Tuesday.
Getz explained that the escape timeline allows for the suspect to be anywhere in the Midwest, including Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, or Illinois. Investigators also examined a bank robbery in Wisconsin that occurred four days ago to see if it connected to the escape. Morley was not found during that investigation.
Morley was convicted in 2022 of the murder of Cody Burchfield. Police consider him armed and dangerous. He is described as white, 5 feet 11 inches tall, and 240 pounds.
If a resident spots Morley, Getz advises them not to approach the suspect. Individuals should call 800-453-4756 to report any physical description or vehicle details they observe.
