Statista and Time have released the 2026 rankings for America's Best Brands, a study that identifies top-performing companies for four distinct demographic groups. The analysis covers Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z. The study relies on data from a national online panel of more than 33,000 American participants.

The survey focused on brands that respondents had purchased, used, or investigated within the previous three years. Participants provided over 220,000 evaluations across 112 distinct product and service categories. To qualify for inclusion, brands generally needed to be accessible to U.S. consumers. Location-dependent services had to maintain a presence in at least two census regions.

The final scores were calculated using a weighted formula that split the assessment into two equal halves. Fifty percent of the total score came from the likelihood of recommendation. The remaining fifty percent was divided equally among three specific criteria: user experience, customer service, and reputation for quality. This structure aimed to balance broad satisfaction with specific operational metrics.

User experience metrics evaluated the entire customer journey. This included factors such as easy access to information, clear communication, and intuitive technology. Customer service scores measured the speed of responses and the relevance of support provided. Reputation for quality focused on consistent performance and transparent policies regarding returns and warranties.

The field period for data collection ran from March through May 2026. The average survey took ten minutes to complete. The methodology excluded events occurring after August 31, 2026, as well as factors related to individual personnel associated with the brands. The resulting rankings reflect consumer sentiment from the last three calendar years.

For each category, the top three to five brands with the highest scores were selected for each generation. The specific number of brands awarded depended on the size of the category. The study notes that the rankings are a reflection of the data available at the time of analysis and should be considered alongside other information sources. Brands not included in the final list are not necessarily of lower quality, but rather did not meet the specific scoring thresholds for their respective demographic groups.
