Residents of Lakeshore have voted to keep Tracey Bailey as mayor, according to unofficial results released Monday. The incumbent secured the top spot in the three-way race for the municipal office.
Initial tallies show Bailey collected 8,399 votes. Her closest competitor, Argo Pace, received 1,782 votes, while Sam Sinjari garnered 1,399 votes.
Bailey cited her twelve years of service on council, including stints as a councillor and deputy mayor, as the foundation for her campaign. She stated that the margin of victory confirms the community supports the current direction of municipal policy.
The mayor pointed to recent financial data to support her platform, noting that approximately $100 million in investment has entered the region over the past four years. She described this influx as a clear mandate to begin new projects immediately.
Bailey outlined her priorities for the coming term, which include infrastructure spending, maintaining housing affordability, and developing complete communities. She said these goals address the continued growth of the municipality.
The next step in the process involves the official certification of these results by the town clerk, which will finalize the term start date.
